The Autumn Edit

As the nights start to draw in and there is a little nip in the air in those early mornings and evenings, we start to think about cosying up and settling inside the home. Making the home feel like the walls are giving you a big hug. We’ve put together some simple ways to make you feel warm and cosy in your home.

6 simple ways to make your home feel more homely.

Cushions

Cushions are a lovely way to bring warmth and texture to your home. Think Mixing fabrics, velvet, wool blends and natural linens. You could even add simple patterns as a focal pion to draw your eye-line to the furniture. The nice thing about cushions is if you just but the covers they are easy to store away and can transition form season to season. View our cushion range here

Throws

Perfect to wrap round you on a cold evening and to throw over the sofa or roll up and pop in a basket in the lounge. Throws add colour, texture and warmth to any room and soften a sofa by adding depth

Candles

Warming smells. smells can transport you to nostalgic times and places. Our aromatherapy candles are great to create a calm and cosy environment. The dim light of a flame is also so calming and warming.

Wooden details

Natural wooden stools are so useful, they can double up as extra seating and side tables. Wooden boards are great for chopping veggies and displaying platters – but equally beautiful on shelves or displayed on walls – I always think the more used a board the more beautiful.

Plants and flowers

Plants and flowers add colour and life and soften any room. Dried flowers are lovey and neutral and add colours. The best thing about them is they are ever lasting too. Choose lovely eye catching plant pots and vases to help frame your plants. Terracotta pots and natural glazed pots are great to inject warm colours.

Art

Choose and invest in something you love. I love to go away and when going on holiday finding art that will always remind me of happy memories and wonderful times. Always think art can change the feeling of a room. Personally I like my art to have an attachment to a memory and a feeling. Also I love photo gallery walls full of friends and family.
